We will explain how to knit the herringbone double crochet, a variation of the double crochet.
Herringbone double stitches have a slight bump to them, giving them a casual look.
The knitting method is very simple, so if you watch the video, I think you'll be able to knit it smoothly.
Ronique also uses herringbone double stitch in the beret featured in her book "Winter Crochet Items" and the bag featured in "Summer Crochet Items" (the photo below is of the same bag in a different color).

Video Tutorial
This video explains how to crochet the herringbone double stitch.
It's very easy to knit as it's just one step added to regular double crochet.
Since the needle foot tends to become short (making it difficult to achieve height), when pulling out the yarn, it is a good idea to pull it out more slowly than usual.
The top of the completed stitch is the same as a regular double crochet, so when you start the next row, you can pick up the stitch from a regular double crochet.

These knitting symbols are used in knitting patterns.
