The second workshop for michiyo & Ronique!

On Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th, we held a "Two-person Workshop in Osaka" with teacher Michiyo as the second installment following the workshop in Sapporo!

Once again, we were blessed with beautiful weather for the two days, and it was my first time to hold a workshop on the road.
It was my first time at Itami Airport, but traveling between Sapporo and Osaka was smooth and I found that the travel time was about the same as traveling to and from Tokyo.

Thank you very much to everyone who took part in the heat, and to those who came from far away!

Michiyo's uneven bag and Ronique's shawl

The four-part workshop kicked off with a few words from Professor Michiyo, who warned us that it would be an intense three hours.

It seemed like there were a lot of people who used knitting needles this time.
Some people have already quickly completed the swatch of the uneven bag and are now working on the actual knitting!

I hadn't yet mastered the techniques I'd learned last time (sorry...!), so I joined everyone again and listened to Michiyo Sensei's explanation.

Hmm, once you start knitting with needles it's so much fun!
It made me want to start studying knitting again!

Last time, I made a beaded sheep, but this time I was asked to knit a triangular shawl called a cross waffle shawl.

The beaded sheep was difficult because the stitches were hard to see, but this shawl is a pattern that can easily get tangled up until you get the hang of it.

We started by starting to knit the pattern, so everyone had to concentrate in silence for a while.
Some people even progressed smoothly to the stage where new movement was added to the pattern!

Once you can see the knitting pattern and your hands get used to it, you will be able to knit this piece without looking at the pattern, so please continue at your own pace at home.

It was fun to see everyone's cute hand-knitted creations again this time.

She also showed me some crochet jewelry that looked great on her, but I was so moved that I didn't think to take a photo, which I regret...!

The back view of these two in their hand-knitted wear is stunning! I couldn't help but snap a photo of them standing side by side.

This plastic bottle holder has super cute hair!
The yellow lip case is fun and cute!

The venue, EYLÜL yarns

EYLÜLThere were so many beautiful threads that I almost lost track of time.
A space that knitting lovers will love! It's a very cute shop.

Not only can you get your hands on foreign yarns that you don't normally get to see, but the owner is also knowledgeable about foreign patterns, so talking to him broadens the world of knitting and deepens your interest.

There are attractive yarns for both summer and winter, so it's great to be able to fully enjoy knitting in each season.
There was also Daruma yarn in an exclusive EYLÜL color, and I was so excited, thinking "Wow!"

The location is great, there are delicious restaurants nearby, and old-fashioned tenement houses remain, so I really felt that it was a great place.

Through this workshop, Osaka has become much more familiar to me, and it's definitely a place I'd like to visit again!
Thank you very much for your help, EYLÜL.

Teacher michiyo!

It was thanks to Michiyo-sensei that we were able to hold the workshop in Osaka after Sapporo! Thank you so much!

Just like last time, the time passed in a fun and harmonious atmosphere from start to finish.
As someone who previously participated in Michiyo Sensei's club activities, I was charmed by her personality and could really empathize with the feelings of the participants in this workshop.

A snapshot of Michiyo-sensei signing at the workshop (photo below).
I also treasure the book autographed by the teacher.

When I heard how many knitting books she had published so far, I was simply in awe.

I also had a lot of fun talking about knitting, which was very inspiring and has given me renewed motivation to try my best.

My children are approaching their double entrance exams, so we will be taking a break from the workshops for a while, but I hope we will have another opportunity like this!
