Free crochet pattern "Baby bib"

This is a crocheted piece.

This is the first baby item, a bib.
I added a bit of transparency to give it a crocheted look.

When my older brother was little, he drooled so much that one bib only lasted about an hour.
In contrast, my younger brother has never had to use a bib to prevent drooling.
I realized that there can be big differences between siblings, so I hadn't prepared anything for my sister yet.
This bib is perfect for a little extra style, regardless of how useful it is.
I want to look cute from behind too.

Bib knitting pattern

Instructions

Please refer to the knitting pattern along with the instructions below.

① Make a chain of 25 stitches.

② For the first row, knit one double crochet on the other side of the cast-on chain and the back crochet. For rows 1 and 2, knit back and forth while increasing stitches on both ends, and for rows 3 to 12, knit without increasing or decreasing the number of stitches.

③Once you have finished knitting the 12th row, continue knitting the right side of the neckline using the same yarn.
Knit rows 2 to 9 without increasing or decreasing the number of stitches, and increase or decrease stitches at the beginning and end of rows 10 and 11. Cut the yarn after you finish knitting row 11.

④ For the left side of the neck, attach the yarn from the position marked on the knitting pattern. Knit up to the 11th row in the same way as for the right side, then cut the yarn.

⑤Once the main body is knitted, attach the yarn from the starting point of the edge knitting shown in the knitting pattern and knit the edge.
The rule for picking up stitches in the first row of edge knitting is basically to split the joint of each row of the main body and pick up one stitch, and then pick up one stitch in the middle of the double crochet stitch in a bundle.
As an exception, the diagonal areas where you increase or decrease stitches (long stitches and chains of four stitches) pick up two stitches per bundle. Also, please note that the areas marked with bold symbols are exceptions.
Knit a button loop halfway through the first row.

The number of stitches for the edge is kept small to prevent the knitted fabric from flapping due to too many stitches. I think it's best to knit the second row of edge knitting loosely.

⑥ Attach a button to the opposite side of the button loop and you're done.
This product is for children, so parents are responsible for its use.
