This is a crocheted piece.
I tried knitting a hand warmer while wondering how crochet fabric is stretchy.
From my experience knitting and using items for the hands and feet, I felt that hand warmers would be better off with more stretch than leg warmers.
These hand warmers are made with a relatively stretchy crochet fabric, and I also increased and decreased the number of stitches to create a snug fit.
I have small hands, but when I asked my son, who has much larger hands than me, to try them on, he said they weren't too tight, so it seems like they would be suitable for a fairly wide range of people.
The yarn I used was one that I fell in love with at first sight and just had to have in this color.
This is Daruma's "Soft Lamb."
This seems to be a medium weight yarn, so if you have tight hands and want to knit it larger, you can adjust the size further by using medium weight yarn.
Be sure to find your favorite yarn.

Instructions
① Cast on the elastic and make 36 stitches.
"Cast-on with elasticity" video explanation pagePlease refer to the following.
②In the first row, make one full circle by crossing double crochets and then knitting quarter crochets.
③At the beginning of the second row, insert the needle into the spot marked with an asterisk (the space below the double stitch and crochets of the previous row) on the knitting pattern and pull the yarn out (imagine inserting the needle into the space and doing a pull-out stitch), then start up with 3 chain stitches.
Putting the needle into the space and knitting feels similar to scooping up the chains from the previous row into a bundle.
When knitting double crochets and cross stitches from the second row onwards, follow this same procedure by inserting the needle into the space below the double crochets and cross stitches from the previous row.
Knit up to the 11th row without increasing or decreasing the number of stitches.
④ The number of stitches in each pattern will change for rows with a colored background in the knitting pattern.
Increase the number of stitches from row 12, and halfway through row 17, crochet 7 chain stitches to make the thumb hole.
The position where you knit the chain is different for your right and left hands, so please check the knitting pattern.
⑤On the 18th row, when picking up a stitch from the chain in the thumb hole, pick up one stitch on the other side of the chain and the back of the knot.
⑥The number of stitches per pattern will also change for rows 19-21 and 22-23, so please check the knitting pattern.
Cut the yarn after you finish knitting the 23rd row.
⑦When processing the yarn, process it so that the separated parts of the knitted fabric below the elastic cast-on stitch are connected.

Your work

Chiharu's "Hand Warmer"
I love Ronique's work. This time I made hand warmers. They're large enough to cover your wrists, so they're very warm. I also used the remaining yarn to make a retro pouch (free knitting pattern). I made it to fit the size of the hand warmers, so we use them as a set.
I'm thinking of making a scarf next. I look forward to seeing more wonderful creations in the future!
Introducing recipes to knit in autumn and winter

Paid knitting pattern "Noble Kakuza"
I wanted to make teleworking and spending time at home more comfortable, so I came up with a cushion that would blend in with the interior. It's comfortable to sit on, and I think it will become a year-round item. It's knitted with yarn that's easy on the wallet, so I think it's a square cushion that you can use without hesitation.

Paid knitting pattern "Flexible Warmer"
This is another project that starts with a stretchy cast-on. The knit fabric is sturdy, so these leg warmers won't slip down around your ankles.
As an example of how to use it, we also show how to knit a neck warmer. This knitted fabric has a unique look even in one color, so please enjoy the different variations.
