This is a crocheted piece.
I made a vertical tote bag using the crocheted "hemp leaf" pattern. It's a flat bag that can fit B5 size documents.
In keeping with the name Asanoha, I used dark brown linen thread to create a summery feel.
I think if I were to use this handle to knit a round-bottom bag, it would have an even more summery feel.
The hemp leaf pattern is quite sturdy and not too transparent, so depending on what you put inside, you can probably use it without a lining.
However, when you want to use it without any worries, it is reassuring to have an inner lining.

Instructions
Please also see the knitting patterns for more details. There are patterns for the bottom, sides, handles, and both sides.
On another page,How to knit a hemp leaf pattern」「How to knit hemp leaf pattern II" is also available, so please refer to it.
① Start knitting from the bottom of the bag. Cast on a chain of 40 stitches and begin knitting.
The first row has 84 stitches per round, and the second row has 88 stitches added at both ends.
Knit rows 3 to 6 without increasing or decreasing the number of stitches.
② In rows 7 to 17, knit a hemp leaf pattern without increasing or decreasing the number of stitches. When you have knitted one full circle around the side, you will have a total of 22 hemp leaf patterns.
The knitting method for the start and end of odd and even rows is different, so it's easy to make a mistake. Please check each row as you go along.
③From the 18th row, knit the part that connects to the handle using back and forth knitting. For this part, continue knitting one side with the yarn that was used to knit the main body, and knit the other side with the yarn attached. Knit while decreasing the number of stitches on both ends with each row.
④ Next, knit three rows of knit stitches for the opening of the bag. Attach the yarn where shown in the pattern and knit a chain that will become the handle. Adjust the length of the handle by increasing or decreasing the number of stitches in this chain.
⑤ Attach the yarn and knit both sides of the tote bag. For the chain part of the handle knitted in ④, scoop up one stitch on the other side of the chain and the back of the knot and work a single crochet. Decrease in each row in the indented parts of both sides. Cut the yarn after 3 rounds of crochet.
