First collaborative workshop in Sapporo
We held the "Michiyo & Ronique Two-Person Workshop" on Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th!
Today, while the excitement is still fresh, I will summarize my report.
All four collaborative events with my idol, Michiyo-sensei, were fully booked.
We would like to once again thank everyone who participated.
Participants came from far away in Hokkaido, not just near Sapporo, and even from the Kanto region.
What made me even happier was that Sapporo was blessed with good weather and the two days were refreshing.
This time, Michiyo-sensei and I each prepared new works for the workshop.
Everyone concentrated and knitted for three hours, and even though it was the same knitting project, you may have put in more effort than usual.

Michiyo's theme is a swatch of a bumpy bag.
Michiyo's new work is a knitted bag with a bumpy texture.
During Michiyo's lesson, we knitted a swatch of bag fabric.
I had so much fun knitting this swatch that I truly felt that knitting is a great skill, and I'm overcome with a passion for knitting needles.
It seemed that many of the participants had never used the knitting techniques shown in the swatches in their daily lives, but as they were taught directly by Michiyo, everyone quickly mastered them.
The number of stitches was such that even if I got confused and started over, I could still recover, so I was able to maintain my motivation while knitting, which was great (←me).
It was fun to see the variety of threads that everyone chose, and I was full of new discoveries, like, "Oh, there are threads like this!" and "Oh, when you pull them together, it looks like this!"
Ronique's theme is a beaded sheep brooch.
During my time, I was asked to make a beaded (crocheted) sheep brooch.
Because it is a detailed job and requires counting the number of stitches, the students were asked to work silently on their own, but we often had to interrupt them during the hour and a half!
I often find myself working at my own pace, but then I end up in a state of hyper-focus. I can imagine other knitting enthusiasts in the same situation, but I feel relieved when I hear that they still enjoyed their work afterwards.
Whether you completed your sheep within the time limit or reported your completion on social media, everyone's sheep were all adorable and unique in their own way.
It's best to complete a project when you feel satisfied, so it's a good idea to take your time re-knitting it at home!
Through this workshop, my sample sheep has also become more fond of me as a memory.
It was such a wonderful time that I regret leaving it behind.
It was a three-hour workshop that required full hands-on work, but we were able to chat in between sessions and after the workshop, and we were able to feel the warmth of everyone and had a wonderful time.
The clothing, bags, small items, accessories, and other items that everyone had knitted that I saw at the workshop, as well as the fresh yarns and tools, were all so beautiful that I couldn't put into words how much fun and moving it was to look at them.
Each and every one of you has your own world of knitting.
I think it would have been really fun if we had been able to talk at leisure!
It was a very intense two days that I'm very sad to see go.
I hope to see you all again when we have our next project!

The venue is Atelier Amies
The location of this workshop is a knitting school near Maruyama Park Station.Atelier Amies"Mr. Miss.
When I visited Atelier Amies for the first time, I was captivated for a moment by the wonderful works on display in the classrooms.
There are so many wonderful projects you'll want to try knitting, including delicate and beautiful knitted shawls, cute knitted animals, bags with connected motifs, accessories and clothing, solid colors and braided patterns...
I really admire how the teacher is constantly improving his own skills while running his classes.
I am grateful for this opportunity to learn not only from the teacher's profound skills, but also from his personality.
Near Atelier Amies, there is the Morihiko coffee shop, as well as delicious bakeries, cafes, and stylish select shops, making it a wonderful area with everything you could want.
And next door is a shop full of Scandinavian goods and yarn.presseThe name "san" is irresistible for knitting enthusiasts.
Teacher michiyo!
I am so happy that I was able to participate in this workshop with Michiyo-sensei, it still feels like a dream.
I don't usually have many opportunities to connect with people who work in the same field as me, knitting design, so I've always thought it would be great to have the opportunity to come into contact with designers.
It is truly moving that this has come to fruition in the form of a collaboration with my respected teacher, Michiyo.
Now, from this point on, as I try to write various things I get embarrassed and my hand stops, or no matter how I write it I feel presumptuous and I can't get any writing done lol!
I really can't put it into words, but I love Michiyo-sensei's works, his passionate works. There is something about them that makes me feel empathy and respect, and they always take me by surprise.
When I said goodbye to Michiyo-sensei, I felt sad and wondered if she was really going back to Tokyo.
It was an amazing few days backstage too!
Thank you to everyone who participated, Atelier Amies, and Michiyo Sensei!
