This is a crocheted piece.
This is a crocheted broccoli, with the fluff added later.
Does it have a broccoli feel to it?
I had a pretend play set that I had made for my brother some time ago.
Side dishes for bento boxes, donuts, etc.
I also tried to knit broccoli at that time, but I couldn't think of a good way to knit it, so I just used fluffy yarn to make it look neat.
A lot of time has passed since then, and although my older brother isn't into playing house anymore, I thought I might make something for my younger brother next.
Now that I have a bit more crochet experience, I think this one looks a little more like broccoli.
My younger brother seems to enjoy the fluffy feeling.
I hope to add other items little by little.

Instructions
① Start by knitting the base of the broccoli. Start by casting on a loop, then knit 6 quarter stitches in the first row.
| Number of steps | Increasing or decreasing the number of stitches |
| 12 (scoop one on the other side) | 6 points (-6) |
| 11 (scoop one on the other side) | 12 points (-6) |
| 10 (scoop one on the other side) | 18 points (-6) |
| 8-9 (scoop one on the other side) | 24 stitches (±0) |
| 7 (scoop one on the other side) | 24 points (+6) |
| 6 (Scoop one from the front) | 18 points (+6) |
| 4-5 | 12 marks (±0) |
| 3 (scoop one on the other side) | 12 marks (±0) |
| 2 | 12 points (+6) |
| 1 | 6 points |
② From rows 2 to 12, increase or decrease the number of stitches as shown in the table above.
For rows that do not have parentheses in the "Number of rows" column in the table, use regular knitting stitches.
Of the rows with parentheses, rows 3 and 7-12 are the same as the previous row's knitting pattern. One on the other sideScoop up the yarn and make a striped stitch.
Only in the 6th row, the previous row's knittingOne on the front sideScoop it up and knit it.
Add some poly wadding along the way, and when you have knitted up to the 12th row, thread the yarn through just one strand on the other side of the 6th stitch in the final row and tie it up.

③Once you have finished knitting the base, it will look like the photo above (right side).
The thin part at the beginning of knitting will be the stem.

④ As shown in the photo above, hold the knitted fabric so that the stem is on the far side (the end of the knitting is towards you) and knit the broccoli florets in place.
The place to knit the tufts is where one weft thread sticks out in the row of stripes that starts from the 7th row of the broccoli base.
Attach the yarn around the weft thread of the rising stitch of the 7th row of the base, knit 5 chain stitches, put the needle into the weft thread of the adjacent stitch and make a slip stitch, knit 5 chain stitches again, put the needle into the weft thread of the adjacent stitch and make a slip stitch, knit 5 chain stitches again, and continue in this manner to complete one round, and after knitting the last 5 chain stitches, make a slip stitch around the weft thread of the rising stitch of the 8th row, and then make one round of the 8th row.
As a guideline, knit five chain stitches into the weft thread in rows 7 to 9 of the base, and four chain stitches into the weft thread in rows 10 to 12, to create the fluffy texture.
It's not clear where to knit the fluff at the top of the broccoli, so find a thread that looks like it might pull out and knit a chain stitch to it, making sure there aren't too many gaps.

While I was knitting the lunch box set, I remembered that Ronique had a cute broccoli knitting pattern, so I diligently worked on it next to my daughter, who was taking online classes due to school closures.
The size is realistic and my daughters were very excited ♪ Thank you as always for the cute knitting patterns!
