Crochet flower-motif hair accessories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a crocheted dandelion with petals as its key feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process begins by knitting a round base, and then attaching fluffy petals to it.
You can easily complete it without rolling or sewing the knitted fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I'm imagining using them as hairpins, or perhaps lining up three of them and attaching them to a barrette.
It would surely look cute as a brooch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, I've made it into a hair tie, as a head accessory.
I tried to make the leaves resemble dandelions as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medium-fine cotton thread (yellow, green)
1 hair tie, 5cm diameter

Detailed instructions and steps for making a "dandelion hair tie"<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2460 Please refer to the knitting pattern along with the instructions below to knit the dandelion flower and the leaves that wrap around the elastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2461 To make the dandelion flower, start by making a cast-on loop, then crochet 6 crochets in the first row. Increase stitches in each row as you crochet the second and third rows.
The second and third rows are the same as the previous row.One on the other side<\/strong>Scoop up the yarn and make a striped stitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For large dandelions, crochet up to the third row of the pattern, and for small dandelions, crochet up to the second row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have knitted the round base, continue knitting chain loops to the base without cutting the yarn.
For the larger dandelion, knit seven chain stitches at a time. Make a slip stitch at the top of the knit stitch in the third row of the base (by scooping both stitches as usual), knit seven chain stitches, and then knit a slip stitch in the adjacent stitch, repeating this process to complete one round.
For the small dandelion, knit six chain stitches, then knit a slip stitch in the second row of the base, and knit one round in the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second round, for the large dandelion, pick up the weft thread from the second row of base stitch and work a slip stitch, then, as in the first round, crochet 7 chain stitches to complete one round.
Similarly, for the small dandelion, knit six chain stitches in the first row of the base, going around it once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have completed the first row of the base, find a yarn that you can use for slip stitches and knit 1-2 loops of chain stitches to avoid leaving a gap in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2462Next, wrap the elastic band using a knit stitch.
The diameter of the rubber bands will vary, so wrap them in a crisscross stitch until you get a multiple of 4, then pull through the first stitch to make a loop (because the leaf pattern is 4 stitches in 1).
It is a good idea to wrap the yarn in a larger number of knit stitches so that it does not stretch too much even if the elastic stretches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2463 For the second row of elastic, make one full turn using slip stitches and patterned stitches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I gave it to my friend's daughter as a gift along with an adult ribbon.
I couldn't find any rubber bands that were the right thickness, so I made them into hairpins, which turned out really cute.
It was a very fun knitting method!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
