How to crochet a double back and forth stitch

くさり編みで作り目をして、1段ごとに裏表を返しながら長編みを編んでいく、長編みの往復編みについて解説します。

長編みは編み地が薄めに仕上がるので、ウェアなどにも向いています。

[How to knit ①]

編みはじめは、くさり6目（作り目）を編みます。

編み図で見ると、一番下に並んでいる6つの白抜きの楕円が作り目を表しています。
例えば、この楕円の数が10個ある場合は、くさり10目で作り目するということになります。

「←1」で示されている段（1段目）から編みはじめます。
最初に、くさり3目を編みます。

When knitting the first stitch of a row (called the "starting stitch"), knit a "starting chain."
太線記号の楕円3つが、立ち上がりのくさり目を表しています。長編みの場合は、編み図のとおり、立ち上がりのくさり目を3目編みます。
このくさり3目を、1つ目の「長編み1目」とみなします。

As a side note, in addition to double crochet, when knitting knitting crochets, double crochet, and double double crochet, you also knit a starting chain when knitting the first stitch of the row.
こま編み以外は「立ち上がりのくさり目」を最初の1目とみなします。
Other knitting methods will be explained on a separate page, but since this is a point that can easily become confusing, it's a good idea to keep it in the back of your mind.

[How to knit ③]

太線記号の一番右の長編みは、5つ目の作り目（①で編んだ最後から2番目のくさり目）に針を入れ、くさりの裏山と向こう側1本をすくって編みます。
続けて、そのとなりのくさり目にも、長編みを1目編みます。このようにすべての作り目のくさりに長編みを編み入れていきます。
最後まで編んだら、1段目に長編み6目（立ち上がり目も1目と数える）が編めているか確認してみてください。

立ち上がりと長編みの数が、実際に編む目数を表しています。

[How to knit ④]

1段目を編み終えたら、編み地を裏返して2段目に進みます。
2段目も1段目と同様に、立ち上がりのくさりを3目編んでから、次の長編みに進みます。
立ち上がりの次からの長編みは、1段目で編んだ長編みの目に編み入れていきます。前段の目の頭の糸2本をすくうようにかぎ針を入れて、長編みをします。
3段目以降も、毎段、編み地を裏表に返しながら、これを繰り返します。

往復編みの編み図では、1段ごとに、立ち上がり位置が右左に変わります。
ほとんどの場合、偶数段は編み地の裏側を見ながら編むことになります。
例外としては、編み地の裏側のほうが雰囲気が良かったりかわいかったりすることがあり、その場合、編み地の裏側を作品の表に使うこともあります。そのような場合は、その旨の説明書きが添えてあるはずです。
