Free Crochet Pattern: Square Coaster in the Round

This is a crocheted piece.

There are many different types of crochet, but circular crochet is really fun...This time, I've got a recipe for coasters.

I think the great thing about circular knitting is that all the stitches are on the "front" side, so the knitted fabric looks beautiful.
Of course, the numbers in the previous row are also face up, so they are easy to pick up.
It's unconscious, but I feel like it makes sense in many ways.

Now that I think about it, when I was a child, I remember being very impressed by the fact that when knitting with needles, you only had to knit the front part when knitting in the round.
I was also confused about knitting and stockinette stitch, and when knitting flat on both sides, it didn't turn out to be stockinette stitch on both sides and I couldn't understand why it turned out to be garter stitch on both sides - lol.
I'm not good at purl stitches, so I still want to keep knitting on the front.

I don't think there's anything particularly difficult about this coaster.
As you increase the stitches, it will take on a square shape.
It was such a fun project that I couldn't stop knitting.

You can also use leftover yarn by knitting with a single extra thick strand, or by knitting with two colors of medium thick and medium thin yarn together (which will make it about the same thickness as extra thick).

The knitting pattern uses a different shade of color for every other row to make each row easier to see.

① Start knitting by creating a loop.
In the first row, crochet 3 double crochets + 1 chain, for a total of 4 sets in one round.

②From the second row onwards, increase stitches in the four corners of each row.
For the second row, gather up the chain stitch from the previous row and knit 5 double crochets.
From the third row onwards, in the corners, place the needle in the stitch shown in the pattern and crochet 5 double crochets.
Once you have knitted the fourth row, cut the yarn and process it.
